IME

At The Chicago Institute for Hand Surgery & Rehabilitation, Independent Medical Evaluations or IME’s are frequently performed. IME’s are often requested to answer specific medical questions related to the worker’s injury. These questions include the causal relationship between the diagnosis and specific injury, accident or illness, further treatment recommendations, prognosis including the extent of permanent disability or impairment, attainment of maximal medical improvement (MMI) as well as other information.  Evaluations are performed in a completely objective manner. IME’s are usually scheduled within 48-72 hours. A quick report can be provided within 24 hours and a comprehensive report within 48-72 hours.
