Thumb replantation at the interphalangeal joint level

This 11-year-old boy sustained an avulsion amputation of his right thumb at the interphalangeal joint level. The flexor pollicis was avulsed at its muscular origin in the forearm. An artery and two veins were anastomosed using vein grafts.
