Occupational Therapy; CPM; HEP; FCE, Work Conditioning

At The Chicago Institute for and Surgery & Rehabilitation, our occupational hand therapists work very closely and diligently with their patients to achieve maximal functional recovery. Comprehensive rehabilitation services include restoring joint mobility, pinch and grip strength, dexterity, facilitating wound healing, minimizing scarring and relieving pain. Our goal is to have our injured patients return to their former jobs at full function. In order to do so, our therapists outline an individualized treatment plan to fit the specific needs of our patients and help them attain their goals. Our occupational therapists supervise range of motion exercises, joint manipulations, strengthening exercises, thermal and electrical stimulation modalities, ultrasound as well as fabrication of custom static and dynamic splints. Home Exercise Programs (HEP’s) are designed specifically for the patient. In certain cases, patients are referred for Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE’s) and Work Conditioning programs. In our facilities, we provide the highest quality personalized care to return the worker to his job in a safe and timely fashion.
